GMan from YMNEWS.COM posts the top 10 TV shows that influenced him. Wrestling was also a big influencer on me! Every day I'd wrestle a few of my stuffed animals on my bed... somehow I always ended up victorious. Anyway, his post got me thinking... How much does television influence us? Can you think of any shows that have helped shape you, even in very subtle ways?

While the jury is still out in the great debate, I find it hard to believe that it isn't a major player in helping to shape our worldviews. More on this down the road.

A new day

I started a blog back in 2003 but never had the follow through or focus to keep it up. However, I've now zeroed in on my topic of choice. After 9 years in youth and family ministry, I would like to contribute to the conversation regarding Family Ministry and the Christian church can help pass on our faith in Christ to future generations.

So, what does this mean (you can tell I'm a Lutheran)? You will see me link to and comment on a variety of articles that has to do with family relations, marriage, men's and women's issues, adolescence, etc. I will also be reviewing books and promoting websites that I find valuable. The hope is that together, we can be INFLUENCERS in our society. While this is a broad subject area for a blog, I believe that we - in some respect - have become disjointed and detached from those who are older and younger than us. In other words, I think older people should understand what's going on with younger generations, and vice versa.

Let's do this!
